FAQ
What’s WRAS Certification?
WRAS stands for Water Regulations Advisory Scheme. Started in 1999, this UK crew checks if products (like valves) won’t mess up drinking water. It’s not a “must-have” everywhere, but in the UK (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland), you gotta use WRAS-approved stuff for water projects.
At BMAG, we’ve snagged multiple WRAS certs. Check out our BW-Q18 Double Valves (Cert. No. 240604010)—good until 2029! We test everything hard, so you don’t get leaks or nasty water.
How to Check if a Valve is WRAS-Approved
Easy-peasy:
- Go to WRAS’s website
- Click: Approvals Directory
- Type in the certificate number (like 240604010) or model (like BW-Q18).
- Confirm the current status—certificates alone aren’t proof; online validation is essential
It’s a valve that won’t poison your water. Our BW-Q01 Spherical Valves (Cert. 2310366) passed all the tests—no toxic stuff, no leaks.
Water Regulations Advisory Scheme. They’re the UK’s water safety squad since 1999.
Testing evaluates materials (non-toxicity), mechanical performance (pressure resistance), and backflow prevention. Products like our BW-Q04 Gate Valves endure 200+ test cycles to earn certification.
Anything touching drinking water—valves, pipes, taps. In the UK, you can’t install non-WRAS stuff.
हाँ, in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Skip it, and you might get fined. Overseas buyers should prioritize WRAS-certified suppliers like BMAG.
Compliance reduces liability, ensures system longevity, and builds client trust.
Clean = okay for washing. Drinkable = safe to swallow (like from your tap). WRAS cares about drinkable.Potable water must meet strict drinking standards (e.g., pH 6.5–8.5, zero lead content).
Product = whole valve (like our BW-L07C). Material = just parts (like rubber seals). We do full product certs!
